日本人てりやきさうす Japanese Teriyaki Sauce

日本人てりやきさうすJapanese Teriyaki Sauce

Teriyaki sauce is often served with chicken or fish. Traditionally it is brushed onto meat, chicken or fish, just as it comes off the grill, but it can also be served as a dipping sauce.

120 ml mirin (sweetened rice wine)
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp tamari sauce
120 ml sake

Into a small saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer gently for about 15 minutes, until the liquid has reduced a little, brush onto cooked meat or fish, or serve hot as a dipping sauce.
